Compare a rental by eligibility, total cost, vehicle suitability and return terms—not only the advertised daily rate.
The UAE Ministry of Economy and Tourism provides an official overview of visitor and resident rental requirements. Check the current guidance, then confirm the supplier’s requirements for the actual driver, licence-issuing country, residency status and vehicle category.
Ask which original documents and payment card must be presented. A reservation does not resolve an eligibility issue discovered at collection.
Keep a deposit authorization distinct from the final rental cost. Ask about the hold amount, release process, mileage allowance, additional drivers, fuel, toll administration and equipment. Request the applicable coverage terms and excess rather than relying on a phrase such as full insurance.
Save the agreement and a dated quote. Confirm how an incident, breakdown or damage must be reported before you need those instructions.
Record existing damage, fuel and mileage with the supplier at collection. Verify essential equipment and obtain a copy of the condition report. Confirm permitted use for every planned destination; cross-border permission requires a separate check.
Plan the return location and timing in advance. Keep handover evidence and the final statement until charges and the deposit are reconciled. For a few fixed journeys, compare the responsibilities with private car transport before deciding that a rental is necessary.
GOOD QUESTIONS
